Margherita Pizza With Artichokes

Margherita pizza with artichokes and capers made using Mareli sauces.

Who doesn’t love a simple Margherita pizza! I make mine with hand rolled dough and fresh Mareli pasta sauce that’s gluten and oil free. 

 

Ingredients 

3 – 4 artichoke hearts, halved

1 tsp. of capers

6 – 8 whole olives

½ cup Mareli Original or Spicy Pasta Sauce

1-½ pounds fresh mozzarella cheese, grated

Sprig of fresh basil 

4 tablespoons olive oil

Large pizza dish

Instructions 

  1. Preheat the oven to 450 F.
  2. Make your own pizza dough or use your favorite pre-made dough. Dust the dough with flour and roll out a thin circle.
  3. Spread the Mareli pasta sauce evenly over the rolled out pizza dough.
  4. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly.
  5. Place the cut artichoke hearts, olives, and capers on top of the cheese.
  6. Bake the pizza for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Dress with the basil leaves.
  8. Serve with your favorite salad.
